alum Vance Coffman
will receive an honorary
doctor of science degree
and give the
commencement address at
the Iowa State
University undergraduate
ceremony on Saturday,
May 6, in Hilton
Coliseum. The program
begins at 1:30 p.m.
Coffman, who received
his BS at Iowa State in
1967, is the retired
chairman of the board
and chief executive
officer of Lockheed
Martin Corporation. The
commencement ceremony
for master’s and
doctoral students is at
8 p.m. Friday, May 5, in
Stephens Auditorium. |
Z. J. Wang, associate
professor in AerE, has been
named an associate editor of the
AIAA Journal.
Bruce Thompson, Anson
Marston Distinguished Professor
in MSE and AerE, received the
Iowa Academy of Science
Distinguished Fellow Award in
recognition of scholarly
activity and service to the
scientific community at the
national and international
levels.
