AABL Wind and Gust Tunnel Bypass Duct

The AABL Wind and Gust Tunnel has a bypass duct (shown at left) surrounding the main fan. By opening and closing dampers, flow can be diverted through this duct to create violent gusts in the wind tunnel test section. Wind gusts up to 25% of the mean flow velocity can be used to simulate extreme wind events.
